Village Board adopts 2013-2014 Budget on April 16, 2013
Mayor Lofaro appoints Donna M Squicciarino as Trustee
At the beginning of the April 22, 2013 meeting of the New Hyde Park Village Board or Trustees, newly elected Mayor Robert Lofaro appointed Donna Squicciarino as Trustee to fill the unexpired term of his former role. Lofaro, who was elected to the office of Mayor on March 19, 2013, had resigned from his position as Trustee on April 1, 2013 with two years remaining in that term so he could become Mayor.
Donna
Squicciarino is a CPA and has been a resident of the
Village of New Hyde Park for 16 years. She brings a
strong financial background with experience in property
taxes, accounting, finance and budgeting. She has been
employed for the past several years as the part-time
District Treasurer for the Sewanhaka Central High School
District and Mineola School District. Prior to her
current roles, she worked for Fleet Securities and
PriceWaterhouseCoppers.

Village Board adopts Local Law on February 5, 2013 amending the Municipal Code of the Incorporated Village of New Hyde Park Authorizing a property Tax Levy in Excess of the (2%) Limit Established in General Municipal Law §3-C
2012 ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT On June 26, the Village Board passed a resolution to hire the firm of Road Work Ahead who submitted the lowest bid at $824,841.15 for the Base Project and $482,147.58 for the "Add Alternates" for an all in total project cost of $1,306,988.73. On March 6, 2012, the Village Board passed a resolution to authorize their engineers, Dvirka and Bartilucci, to design and prepare a bid document for the 2012 Road Improvement Project, scheduled to begin this summer. The cost of this engineering work will be $119,360 ($82,640 for the base project, and $36,720 for the additional alternates). The Village secured a AA Stable rating from Standard and Poors for the $1,300,000 in Road Improvement Bonds which enabled them to obtain a effective borrowing rate of 1.84% for the 13 years they will be outstanding The roads completed:
