Mayor’s Letter to the Residents October 30, 2018

October 30, 2018

Dear Neighbors,

Thanksgiving in New Hyde Park.  What a nice holiday this is – and how nice it is to enjoy the holiday.

This holiday seems to make the cold weather Ok.  Yes, it’s cold, but its Thanksgiving and somehow that makes it more bearable.  Maybe because the warmth from within us defeats the cold.  The warmth we feel when we take time out and bring the family together for a feast.  Differences are put aside, and we enjoy one another.  Thanksgiving really is a special holiday.  It’s a day when it’s not only Ok to overindulge but encouraged.  People get a pass from their diets on Thanksgiving.
