Dear Neighbors,
Each day, the coronavirus crisis hits closer and closer to our homes. Many of our neighbors are now directly impacted and suffering. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who is sick and their families.
Please continue to do all you can to help stem the spread of this pandemic.
What You Can Do
- Be Part of the Solution – Not Part of the Problem
- STAY AT HOME
- Please use the CONVID hotline at 1-888-364-3065 if you have any questions on the disease, testing, etc.
- Help Your Neighbors – Check in on elderly neighbors or let us know if someone needs assistance
- Order Take Out from our New Hyde Park Restaurants and Food Establishments
We will get through this. The more people who cooperate and behave responsibly, the more people will survive. Now is the time to help one another.
While we fight this virus together, your Village is working – albeit at reduced staffing levels – to maintain essential municipal services and perform our obligations for you. As stated earlier, pick of municipal waste and recyclables remains on schedules. Our thanks to our great Department of Public Works crew!

Third Track Update – Significant Noise To Be Expected
The Third Track Project also continues as construction services are considered an essential business. We can expect to see overnight work beginning this week.
Some of this work will include work at night and over the weekend and the work is expected be generate a lot of noise.
Per 3TC:
“…significant noise will be created from the high rail vac truck. Please note the work activity is mostly into the Floral Park. Regardless, should prep residents for all of the above – lights, men, and noise. There shouldn’t be idling trucks associated with this activity but we will alert crews to limit idling if so.”
A source of significant noise involved in the installation of utility poles as been the use of a vacuum truck needed to excavate holes for the utility poles. The Village had previously cited the contractor for violating Village noise ordinances. 3TC explains that the contractor can only work on the rail during LIRR track outages. Track outages on track 1, (north track) in this area is at night until late summer. 3TC and their contractor, EJ Electric expressed their sensitivity to inconvenience to residents in the surrounding area and they have committed to do their best to complete this work as soon as possible and minimize the adverse effects.
